Your Cyber Monday Cheat Sheet

Black Friday usually gets all the attention when it comes to holiday season bargains, and rightfully so: It’s one of the biggest online shopping days of the year. Last year, online sales on Cyber Monday totaled about $1.5 billion, and this year is projected to be even bigger. So don’t snooze on Cyber Monday, because if you do, you’ll be missing out on the best deals online that are comparable to those of Black Friday -- and they don’t require waiting out in the cold for six hours! Although most retailers withhold the details of their online deals until the last minute, here is a preview of some of the best deals online happening during Cyber Monday.

Macy’s

Macy’s has great Black Friday deals, but what most people don’t know is that many of those same deals can be found online. You’ll find discounts on almost everything you need, from that $20 griddle to sub-$100 cashmere sweaters. Deals you can expect to see on the Macy’s site: kitchen items and appliances, makeup, fragrances, coats and apparel, jewelry, home and shoes.

Overstock.com

This online retailer already has reduced prices, and Cyber Monday just makes them that much better. While the exact amount is being kept under wraps, Overstock promises big savings on top-rated tablets, laptops and TVs, as well as shoes, clothing, bedding and furniture.

Target

Target has its own “cyber week,” which starts on Sunday, December 1. You’ll find clothing, movies, music, home décor, furniture, video games, and toys and clothing for children. You’ll also get free shipping on select items. Sign up for alerts and doorbuster deals here.

Amazon

Discounts on already discounted items! Amazon also celebrates “cyber week” during the week after Thanksgiving. For time-sensitive sales and deals of the day, go here. Amazon is an online holiday gift shopping powerhouse, with discounts on electronics, clothing, shoes, jewelry, toys and more.

Walmart

The American retail giant offers great deals on electronics and home goods all week starting on Cyber Monday. Some things to look out for are discounted game consoles, HDTVs, appliances, clothing and furniture. Shipping is free on orders over $50, a minimum that should be easy to meet with all that holiday shopping.

Belkin

For all your mobile, Wi-Fi, power and home automation needs, head to Belkin.com. You’ll save 30 percent on everything on the site between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Monday morning.

Best Buy

When it comes to electronics and technology gifts, look no further than Best Buy on Cyber Monday. With special online deals all day and special online doorbusters in the morning, no tech geek (or those shopping for them) will be disappointed. Some deals to expect: laptops, desktops, HDTVs, Blu-ray players, digital cameras, mobile phones, appliances and video games. Hear about deals ahead of time by signing up for email alerts.

JCPenney

If you want to take advantage of free shipping, head over to JCPenney online on Sunday and Monday, December 1 and 2. Look out for sales on apparel, purses, jewelry, bedding, home décor, small appliances and kids’ clothing.
