Football Season is Here

One thing I love about fall is football.  I have three boys so all the games are on our television.  We usually watch the Green Bay Packer games.  I love the NFL, but college football is also a lot fun to watch.

Here are some interesting facts about college football.

• Quarterbacks from Alabama won the first three Super Bowls.
• The mascot for the University of Santa Cruz is the Banana Slug.
•  The Wisconsin Badgers once had a real-life badger as their mascot.  During games, it would be led around the sidelines on a leash. The animal was later replaced by a costumed mascot in 1940.
• Division I is the highest level of intercollegiate athletics sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). There are 128 teams in Division I College Football.
• In the 1940's college bowl games included the Raisin Bowl, Salad Bowl and Oil Bowl.

For college football fans it is very important to support your favorite team with the right apparel. Even if you are just watching the game at home it is nice to show your support by wearing  your favorite team's colors.
