New Children's Sun Protection Brand Launches Accessory for Everyday Wear and Play

Sun Angel's, the makers of a unique line of sun protective clothing for kids, introduced UPF 50+ arm sleeves to their line of clothing.

The sleeves are designed to be warn with a t-shirt to allow air flow to your child's underarms.  They are simple to slip on and off to avoid sticky, messy sunscreen.  The moms that started Sun Angels believe that it is important to protect children from the sun's harmful UV rays.  They want to promote a healthy, active lifestyle for their children while keeping them safe.  They didn't think there was enough sun protection products available that met their expectations, so they created functional and cute sun protection clothing for kids.

According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in the course of a lifetime.  Exposure to UV light can lead to the three types of skin cancer, melanoma, squamous cell and basal cell carcinomas.  Children are especially vulnerable to the potential harmful effects of UV light because their skin is thinner and has less melanin than adults.  That is why it is very important that you use proper sun protection for your kids.

Sun protective clothing is still relatively new.  I like the concept, although being an old-fashioned mom I don't find it very practical.  Maybe I am just used to sun screen and I don't have a problem applying sun screen on my kids.  I love the heat and spending time in the sun shine so I will never force my kids to play in the shade.  Instead I always make sure to apply sun screen to their exposed skin and make them wear hats if they will be spending an extended amount of time in the sun.

The Sun Angels arm sleeves are cute, but if it is a hot sunny day my daughter will prefer putting sun screen on her arms and playing in the sprinkler or pool over wearing her arm sleeves.  I think that this product is better suited for little infants than older kids.  Older children don't mind applying sun screen but you can not put sunscreen on babies under six months.

If you are one of those moms that just has to have the latest styles for your kids, then check out Sun-angels.com to view their complete line of sun protective clothing for kids.  Like I said before, I really like the concept behind sun protective clothing. Everyone needs to protect their skin from the sun's harmful UV rays, especially our precious babies.
