10 Top Parenting Blogs Worth Reading

Parenting is tough. I have been a parent for nearly seventeen years now and believe me I am still learning.  Sometimes we need a bit of advice, inspiration, or just some humor to get through the day and learn to become a better parent.  Below are ten great blogs all about this journey we are on raising our kids.  This is just a short list of my favorite parenting blogs that are worth the read.

1. Aha! Parenting by Dr. Laura Markham

"Dr. Laura Markham trained as a Clinical Psychologist at Columbia University, but she's also a mom, so she understands kids -- and parents!."  Visit her blog for advice and parenting tips to help you become a better parent.

2.  The Parenting Passageway by Carrie
"As a licensed neonatal and pediatric physical therapist, lay breastfeeding counselor, board-certified lactation consultant and positive parenting and homeschool consultant, Carrie has observed, worked with and counseled thousands of families since 1997. Carrie brings a rich variety of experiences and training to this blog, which provides a unique intersection of gentle viewpoints in order to help and inspire families to have a peaceful life lived 'on purpose'."  Visit The Parenting Passageway for inspiration and positive parenting and homeschooling tips.

3. Penniless Parenting by Penny
"Hi! I'm Penny, frugalista extraordinaire, tree hugging, real food eating, gluten free living, homeschooling, breastfeeding, co-sleeping, DIYer who loves the challenge of having an awesome life on a very limited budget!" Visit PennilessParenting.com for parenting and money saving tips.

4. ADHD Parenting Blog by Crystal Heim
"Crystal is a Certified School Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. She graduated in 2009 with a Master’s Degree in School Counseling. She also has a Bachelor’s in Psychology. Her son was diagnosed with ADHD at age 5. She currently is a stay at home mom to her three children." For tips on how to parent kids with ADHD visit ADHDParentingBlog.com.

5. Mama Eve - Exploring the Full Spectrum of Natural Parenting
"I’m a mom and writer. My family and I go where the Navy takes us. I have a master’s degree I never use, and I love my Coach purse even though I’m a home-birthing, breastfeeding, babywearing, free-ranging type of mom. When I’m not barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen, you can usually find me outside, running." Visit MamaEve.com for tips and advice on natural parenting.

6. Snarky Mommy by Amy Sprenger
"I am Amy S. When I got married, I was already an Amy S. Then I married Josh S. and after much deliberation and gnashing of the teeth, changed my name. Legally, I am Amy S.S. Which sounds all feminist and empowering, but really just makes my initials ASS. We have a son, Jackson, who was born in February 2006; a daughter, Emily, who joined us in January 2008; and a daughter, Maeven, who burst onto the scene in December 2009."  For inspiration and parenting humor visit SnarkyMommy.com.

7. One Little Mister Parenting Blog by Nicole
"I’m Nicole, the founder and editor of One Little Mister. I’m a 27 year-old photographer and mom to two amazing little guys. I really don’t recall what life was like before I became a mother and I don’t want to... I’m content living my sweet southern life. It’s muddled, hectic, and random but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. Join me as I trudge through toddlerhood." You can visit Nicole at OneLittleMister.com.

8. Parenting Pink - Raising Strong Girls Together

9. If Only They Told Me by  Jacqui and Nat
"Jacqui and Nat are two mums living in New Zealand with their families. Jacqui is British, loves tea and is a self-confessed neat freak. She is mum to Jack, 5 yrs and Sasha 4 yrs and married to a very patient Kiwi, John. She has lived in New Zealand for 9 years and it is now home, although she has never forgotten her British roots and misses her Yorkshire Tea, Walkers Crisps and Marks and Spencers." 10. Dr. Christine Carter
"A sociologist and happiness expert at UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center, Christine Carter, Ph.D. is the author of RAISING HAPPINESS: 10 Simple Steps for More Joyful Kids and Happier Parents. Dr. Carter also writes an award-winning blog, which is syndicated on the HuffingtonPost and PsychologyToday.com.
