Faith, Christmas and Angels

Christmas Nativity
I remember a news story I saw a couple of years ago. Some guy being interviewed was saying that people of faith like Mother Theresa have something wrong with their head. He said something to the effect that their faith is all in their head and they are psycho. I was appalled when I heard that. I could not believe it. He actually believes that if you believe in God or some higher power you have mental problems. He said there is no such thing as heaven and there is no God. I swear when I heard that I thought I was going to throw up.

I know that there is a God because when you let him into your life he blesses you. When I was watching another news show a member of the audience said that he was raised Baptist and his father was a Baptist minister. A while ago he decided that he did not need God in his life. He ended up jobless, homeless and living on the streets. Once he asked God for forgiveness and welcomed Him back into his life everything turned around for him. He is now a home owner, husband, father, and business owner.

I pray with my family every day and by myself. I also make sure I attend mass on Sundays. God has blessed me with a beautiful family and most importantly a home to live in. I am always thankful for the roof over our heads.

Do you believe in angels? There was another news story about a young girl who was in the hospital. The doctors said that she wasn't going to live very long. Her family stayed in the hospital and prayed at her bedside. One day a bright light appeared in her room. Apparently there wasn't any windows in the room or anywhere for light to get in. This mysterious light just came from nowhere. Someone snapped a picture and it was all over the news. After the light vanished the girl made a miraculous recovery. Her family believes it was an angel. The doctors have no explanation to how she recovered so quickly. Was it an angel? I think so.

This Christmas season thank God for all your blessings and pray for those who are less fortunate. Faith and prayer are especially important during this blessed holiday. Merry Christmas and God bless you all.
