Mothers know the importance of keeping kids active. Even toddlers need to get their daily exercise, which is why you should make set time every day for you and your child to get outside and get some fresh air and active. Usually, kids get their exercise without even realizing it’s happening by jumping up and down on the trampoline or going across the monkey bars. It’s also important that you stay active with your child, so you can share in the benefit of being active. There are lots of ways to accomplish this, including taking classes at TheLittleGym.com children's gym with your child. If you’re looking for ways to incorporate some active routines into you and your child’s lives, check out these tips.

Mommy and Me Class

Signing up for a mommy and me class for you and your little one is a fantastic way to keep your little one healthy and for you to get moving, too! Strengthening the bond between mother and child is healthy for both of you, and you’ll get your little one bouncing and shaking. There are all different kinds of mommy and me classes, from simple gymnastics classes to swimming classes. Sign up for once or twice a week, and reap all the benefits that come with it. You and your child may both even make some new friends!

The Stroller Jog

Instead of driving to the park playground so your child can run around, opt to leave the car and take the stroller. Even if you aren’t full on running with the stroller, a brisk walk or slow job will do wonders to get your blood flowing. Your little one will no doubt love the experience of traveling fast inside a stroller, and once you get to the park you can sit back and relax while your little one gets his or her exercise. If you’d prefer to bike, opt to buy a either a child carrier that you can place behind your bike, or even a bike extension so your child can “ride” with you without slowing you down.

Play Outside Games

Sometimes getting exercise for you and your child is as simple as going into your backyard and playing tag. Spend a few days a week in your backyard with your family playing different games that require running, jumping, even hiding. Chances are that you’ll enjoy the games just as much as your child will. Get creative with the games you play; make an obstacle course in your backyard and encourage your child to beat his or her record time (or your time if they’re up for a big challenge)!

Get Creative With Chores

Not only will you help teach your little one about responsibility, but having your child help you with chores will keep them active. Give your little one a little broom, and have him or her dance around the house while sweeping. Have him or her wipe off the table rhythmically, and get creative with other chores. The chores will become fun, and your little one might enjoy doing them all the way through their teens!
