Women Selling Their Positive Pregnancy Tests on Craigslist

Positive pregnancy tests for sale has become a growing trend on Craigslist in the US. One listing from New Jersey states, "SELLING POSITIVE PREGNANCY TEST PRICE NEGOTIABLE WON'T ASK QUESTIONS SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY." The asking prices for the tests range from $15 all the way to $1000. The buyers are using the tests for a number of different reasons from lying to their boyfriends to get them to propose to making educational videos about sex for teens.

When I did my own research on Craigslist I found out that most of the listings are on the east coast, however I found one from Seattle which states, "Seeing this done on the East Coast and have been asked about it here, so doing it here in Seattle for those interested. I am 30 weeks pregnant. Will take a pregnancy test for you to use for whatever reason (not my concern). Can do it same day for you and meet you anywhere in the area. Discreet, anonymous and quick. I don't ask questions, you get a positive pregnancy test to use for whatever reason."

As outrageous as selling a positive pregnancy test sounds, I do understand the need to make some extra money in today's tough economy.  Jobs are scarce, prices on basic necessities are on the rise and there is a growing uncertainty as to whether or not our economy will bounce back.

I don't think it is right to sell a positive pregnancy test to someone who is going to use it for a devious reason. But I also believe that buyers have a right to their privacy.  Would you sell your positive pregnancy test? I am still unsure if I would.
